Crystal Care Guide
Simple ways to cleanse, store, and care for your crystals and ritual objects.
Natural materials are made to be lived with. A little care helps them stay clear, beautiful, and ready for the moments you return to them.
Crystal care does not need to feel complicated.
It can be as simple as wiping a stone clean, placing it somewhere intentional, or letting it rest between uses.
At Orblink, care is not about perfection. It is a quiet way to keep your ritual objects connected to your space, your practice, and the state you want to return to.
Use ritual incense to refresh the atmosphere around your crystal.
Light the incense safely in a heat-safe holder. Let the smoke move gently near the stone without holding it too close to the flame or ash.
This method is especially useful when you want to reset the feeling of a space before or after a ritual.
Best for
Carry stones, ritual kits, home objects, and crystals used often.
Care note
Always burn incense with care. Keep it away from fabrics, open windows, pets, and children. Never leave burning incense unattended.
Place your crystal near soft morning light or indirect daylight for a quiet reset.
Avoid long exposure to harsh direct sunlight, especially for stones with softer color tones.
Best for
Clear Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Himalayan Quartz, and stones used as home objects.
Care note
Some crystals, including Amethyst and Rose Quartz, may fade with strong direct sunlight over time. When in doubt, choose indirect light.
Use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, fingerprints, or surface marks.
For polished stones, gentle handling is usually enough. Avoid harsh cleaners, soaps, oils, or soaking unless you know the material is water-safe.
Best for
Polished carry stones, Himalayan Quartz objects, and crystal pieces displayed in the home.
Care note
Natural stones may show inclusions, surface markings, color shifts, or texture. These are part of the material's natural character.
When not in use, keep your crystal in a pouch, box, tray, or quiet place where it will not be scratched or knocked against harder objects.
You can also place it somewhere you naturally pause - on a bedside table, desk, shelf, or ritual corner.
Best for
Carry stones, ritual kits, Master Set stones, and smaller polished crystals.
Care note
Store each piece with enough space around it. Natural stones can chip or scratch if they knock against each other.
Not every crystal should be cleaned the same way.
To keep your pieces safe, avoid:
- Long exposure to strong direct sunlight
- Soaking stones in water unless the material is known to be water-safe
- Salt water, harsh cleaners, soaps, or oils
- Dropping, stacking, or storing stones where they may knock together
- Placing crystals too close to flame, ash, or burning incense
When unsure, choose the gentlest method: a soft cloth, indirect light, and careful storage.
You do not need to cleanse your crystals on a strict schedule.
Care for them when they feel dusty, after frequent use, before a new ritual, or when you want to refresh the space around them.
A simple rhythm can be:
After use
Wipe gently and return the piece to its place.
Weekly
Let the object rest in soft light or near fresh air.
Before a ritual
Use incense or a quiet moment to reset the space.
